The fourth China International Consumer Products Expo, also known as the Hainan Expo, China's first national consumer products exhibition, will be held in Hainan from April 13 to 18. The organizing committee has created a new series of sporty mascot images, featuring the Hainan Gibbons Yuanyuan and Xiaoxiao playing beach volleyball, parasailing, surfing, playing football, sailing, and cycling, all sports popular in Hainan.

From left to right the Hainan Gibbons are dressed for surfing, beach volleyball, parasailing, football, sailing, and cycling.

As a tropical island in southern China, Hainan is a popular vacation destination as well as a beach sports paradise. The year-round warm weather and wide variety of rivers, lakes, and beaches make it the perfect place for sailing, windsurfing, surfing, diving, fishing, and swimming, as well as parasailing, hot air ballooning and skydiving.

Hainan is also a popular cycling destination, attracting cyclists from all over the country to ride along the beautiful Coastal Scenic Highway and chase the wind through the islands tropical rainforests and scenic countryside. The Qiongzhong women's soccer team, who grew up in Hainan’s mountainous regions, is a golden icon for Hainan's sports, and has even attracted worldwide attention.

At this year’s Hainan Expo, Yuanyuan and Xiaoxiao will show off their sports skills and invite visitors to check out Hainan’s many sporting venues, competitions, and activities.

It is worth mentioning that the number "4" on Yuanyuan's football uniform represents the fourth Hainan Expo, while the number "10" on the Xiaoxiao's beach volleyball uniform symbolizes completeness in Chinese, expressing a firm belief that the Expo will be successful. During the Hainan Expo, several activities will also be held to promote Hainan Gibbon conservation.
