On March 26, at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia "Investing in Asia's Future" sub-forum participants discussed the characteristics of the Asian market, investment, and development directions.

"For the world, the Asian region is a vibrant and attractive investment destination, and China plays an important role," said Charles DALLARA (Chairman and Advisory Partner of Partners Group). He also believes that in the Asian region, China still holds great attraction in foreign direct investment.

The companies represented by local guests have made numerous investments in the Asian market. Through long-term interactions, their confidence comes from various aspects. "The regulatory environment is becoming more mature, which is very important for investors. Asia has a lot of talent, which is also very important," said Giulio TERZARIOL (CEO of Italy's Generali Group).

How to turn confidence into better actions and results? Many participants believe that in order to continue to attract investment, Asian countries still have a lot to do (such as further improving the investment ecosystem, boosting investor confidence, and enhancing their attractiveness to foreign investment).

Charles DALLARA (Chairman and Advisory Partner of Partners Group) stated, "Countries, including China, need to deepen their openness, introduce relevant policies, strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, and ensure regulatory stability and predictability. These are all important considerations for companies to make foreign direct investments.

XU Zhibin (Deputy Director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange of China) said he believes that relevant departments should actively provide services to market entities; that effforts should be made to improve market access, promote fair competition and cooperation, and improve relevant regulatory modes and services; thar small and medium-sized enterprises and real economy enterprises be strengthened, financing difficulties solved, and market entities made to gain a stronger sense of benefit.
