In terms of overseas routes, on the first two days of 2025 Meilan Airport opened Lanzhou ⇌ Haikou ⇌Singapore and Yichang ⇌ Haikou ⇌Singapore routes, with a current total of 23 weekly flights between Haikou and Singapore. On Feb. 3, a non-stop Haikou ⇌ Tokyo (Narita), Japan route will be added, continuing to connect the Hainan Free Trade Port more closely to the rest of the world and offer Spring Festival travelers even more destinations to choose from.

In addition, Meilan Airport has added payment, travel, transport services for international travelers as well as a free overnight rest area in Terminal 2.

During the Spring Festival travel season, Meilan Airport will also hold a variety of themed events at Terminals 1 and 2 and Haikou Airport City, located next to the airport. Travelers will have the opportunity to experience intangible cultural heritage arts such as Qiong (Hainan) Opera and coconut carving, and can also purchase CNY gifts and souvenirs at the cultural and creative market. Shoppers who spend a total of more than 2,998 yuan in Meilan Airport shops will be eligible to participate in "scratch-off lottery" and "blind box" activities, which offer the chance to win different gifts including free air tickets and large shopping vouchers.

Meilan Airport reminds travelers that there will be a large volume of passengers during the Spring Festival travel season. Travelers should purchase round trip tickets well in advance of planned travel dates and arrive at the airport no less than three hours before flights are scheduled to depart.
