The 2025 Boao Forum for Asia is being held in Hainan from Mar. 25-28 under this year’s theme, "Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future". This year the focus of the annual conference is development, promoting dialogue, innovative formats, and effective promotion of international development and cooperation.

According the Forum agenda, the annual meeting will hold discussions around four main topics:  Building Trust and Promoting Cooperation in a Fast-Changing World, Re-balancing Globalization for Inclusive Development, More Effective Responses to Global Challenges, and Strengthening AI Application and Governance for Innovation-Driven Development. Several forum activities will be held this year, including: High-Level Dialogue: China's Reform and Economic Prospect, Pension Reform for Population Ageing, Enhancing Digital Capacity Building & Bridging Digital Divide, Energy Transition for a Sustainable and Shared Future, A Shared Future of Health for All, Unlocking Greater Potential of Regional Free Trade Agreements, AI: How to Strike a Balance between Application and Governance, Developing Core Competitiveness through the Application of AI, Towards the Future of Regional Integration: Openness & Connectivity, Building an Open World Economy: Challenges and Solutions, Cross-Border E-Commerce Cooperation: A New Driver for Mutually Beneficial Trade, Maintaining Global Supply Chain Stability: The Role of Connectivity, Business Strategies in Response to the Fast-Changing World, and more.

This year, the Hainan Free Trade Port will achieve island-wide customs closure as well as expand opening up to the world. The 2025 Boao Forum for Asia will highlight smart environmental protection and special Hainan related topics. Hainan will continue to work to promote the deep integration of the development of the Hainan FTP with the Boao Forum for Asia platform through agenda design and event arrangement, holding a number of Hainan themed sub-forums. The most important of these is the Global Free Trade Port Development Forum. In addition, a wide variety of off-site activities will be held during the Forum period, including an Exhibition of the Achievements of Hainan FTP Development and Danzhou City Exhibition, annual meetings in the beautiful Qionghai countryside, FTP investment promotions, and establishing an international FTP cooperation platform.
