“This book breaks the stereotype of policy textbooks, using an internationally accepted visual language as a vector to transform the business environment innovations and practical results of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) into easy-to-understand comics that can be easily shared,” remarked Arjun Goyal, president of India’s GBD Books, after a careful perusal of the newly published comic book.
This year’s BIBF, the most international book fair in Asia, attracted over 1,700 exhibitors from 80 countries and regions, and showcased 220,000 high quality books from China and around the world. Co-edited by the Hainan Daily Press Group and Hainan Provincial Department of Business Environment Development and published by the Hainan Publishing House, the Winning in the FTP comic book, taking pride of place in the center of the Hainan Pavilion, managed to attract a large number of industry professionals as well as readers from both China and abroad.
“I noticed this comic book right away. The format is very novel.” Tu Muji, from the Beijing YGYM Translation Service Co., Ltd., noted that the book uses comic strips as a form of innovative expression, supplemented by accurate English translations, making it an effective tool to reach global investors.

Many media professionals were also drawn to the humorous, down-to-earth characters and dialogue design of the book. “We all know that Hainan is developing as a free trade port, which is attracting attention from all sides. Both domestic and international investors have an urgent need to learn more about the policies and business environment of the Hainan FTP through a variety of channels and formats." Zhang Wei, a reporter from China.com.cn, said that the comic book can help investors quickly obtain more effective information, further enhancing the international visibility of Hainan's business environment.
“Hainan’s policies and where business can be handled are clearly laid out in the book.” Feng Rui, who is engaged in the foreign trade industry, has done business in Hainan for many years. In his opinion, the launch of this comic book will help corporations do business and more conveniently benefit from policies in Hainan. "For me, this book is very useful."
